Hunter Regional Accounts
Regional natural capital accounts are crucial for providing localized insights into the value and sustainability of natural resources. These accounts serve as powerful tools for integrating environmental considerations into economic decision-making, enabling policymakers and stakeholders to make informed decisions that balance economic development with environmental conservation.

For the Hunter region, we have created regional accounts by extracting data from statewide BioBanking Assessment Methodology (BBAM) and Soil Organic Carbon accounts. This approach offers valuable insights into the biodiversity credit market, including data on species credit stock, agreement stock, and protected habitat areas. The Hunter Soil Organic Carbon account also provides detailed information on carbon stock by SA2 and land use type.
