Forum participation guidelines
The Hub Forum is a public forum where the community can interact and have discussions about different topics relevant to environmental data.
Please follow the guidelines to ensure that the forums have productive conversation. The guidelines are enforced by the forum administrators who at their discretion may delete posts that do not comply. Failure to comply with these rules may also result in a ban from the forum.
We rely on forum participants to keep the forums a safe place for people to share and view information. To do this, we ask that participants follow the forum rules below when contributing to the discussion.
Forum rules
- Keep it friendly
- Be courteous and respectful. Appreciate that others may have an opinion different from yours.
- Stay on topic. When creating a new discussion thread, give a clear topic title. When contributing to an existing discussion, try to stay 'on topic'. If something new comes up within a topic that you would like to discuss, start a new thread.
- Share your knowledge. Don't hold back in sharing your knowledge – it's likely someone will find it useful or interesting. When you give information, provide your sources.
- Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behaviour and speech.
We reserve the right to remove any posts that don’t adhere to our guidelines. Specifically, we do not tolerate the following kinds of commentary:
- Profane, defamatory, offensive or violent language.
- ‘Trolling’ or posting deliberately disruptive statements meant to hijack comment threads or throw discussions off-track.
